It’s been now two month since I moved in. One of my plans related to this change, was to move somewhere where I get a blank canvas and a space with some character to manifest my ideas and my taste and my style as I developed and honed it working on several client projects and reading and studying the work of others. The prerequisites of emptiness and character were met when I found this cozy and intimate attic in Cotroceni. I also knew I had to keep in mind budget and the limitation of a rental. And I am saying this in a positive way, as the challenge and the skills lie exactly in achieving a great interior with limited resources. Here we go again folks! I moved out and moved in, and I might suffer from a compulsive cleaning disorder cause I was completely stuck into my cleaning obsession for the last  two weeks, in the new apartment, as I am unable to function and to think clearly surrounded by clutter and boxes and dust. BTW, dust! There’s nothing I hate more. I assume there is some reason for the dust in the ecosystem, or maybe not, but I wouldn’t mind if it would completely vanish as a concept #dustgoaway. That being said, I am more or less back on the path now, and I would like to share with you the first steps of the process. First “Quick & Dirty” victim on the blog is this beautiful (trust me!) oak chair,  rescued by my client from an attic. Though in an apparently bad shape, water and fire stained, luckily it showed no signs of woodworms attack. Generally oak, being a harder wood, is avoided by woodworms especially if the little animals have other options. I guess they had plenty of other options in the said attic so they left our chair alone. Nevertheless it has been treated now for future possible woodworm threat. Second worry on my list were the multiple stains, of uncertain origin. Luckily it turned out most of the stains were not-too-profound water stains, pretty easily removable by the elementary cleaning process, and an easy sanding.
